Raw Cycling Magazine
2025
ART DIRECTION & EDITORIAL
Raw Magazine is a bilingual publication specializing in cycling, founded in 2013 with a digital DNA. It has evolved from the fixed-gear scene to become a key player in the international cycling culture landscape.
After more than a decade developing editorial and experiential projects, it has built a solid community that supports the project from multiple angles. And now, in 2025, Raw has decided to take the leap to print with Issue Zero: "Stepping into the unknown," taking on the challenge of materializing its digital identity into a physical object in the era of ephemeral content.

Overview of sheets
The launch strategy was built around the claim "More magazine than ever," created to communicate that the move to print is not just another project, but a positioning milestone that reinforces the brand’s core values: quality, authenticity, and community.

Launch poster
Issue Zero revolves around the concept of exploration, which defines both Raw’s cycling adventures and its professional leap into print. It draws a parallel between discovering new routes on a bike and exploring new editorial territories, a connection that gives this first issue its name: "Stepping into the unknown."

Details of editorial pages
Through experimental editorial design inspired by the concept of exploration, a flexible grid system was developed to create a dynamic rhythm and convey movement. The modular layout adapts content to the needs of each section: a photo-based index with images in various sizes, spreads alternating regular compositions, and maps that guide the narrative of the journey.

Release
The typographic proposal approaches bilingualism by dividing the content into two styles. Neue Haas Grotesk Text Pro in black is used for English texts, and Freight Text Pro in gray for Spanish texts. This typographic and chromatic distinction allows both languages to coexist without competing, establishing clear visual hierarchies that guide bilingual reading naturally. As a third typeface, Century Schoolbook Std is used for headlines, adding a sense of timelessness and ensuring legibility.
